“BEYOND SMILE, UNDERSTANDING MENTAL HEALTH”
Mental well-being includes our emotional, social, cognitive, and physical capacities, going beyond simply feeling happy or calm. Caring for mental health strengthens resilience, helping us overcome challenges and live meaningful lives. It is a basic human right and vital for personal, social, and economic development. In recent years, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic highlighted by the United Nations in 2021, global attention toward mental health has grown significantly. People facing mental health issues often struggle with isolation, as depression can weaken relationships and reduce essential social support systems.
“BEHIND CLOSED DOORS:UNMASKING MANY FACES OF GENDER VIOLENCE”
One of the most enduring, pervasive, and agonizing aspects of our culture is gender violence, although it frequently goes unreported due to fear, cultural standards, shame, and silence. Gender violence impacts women, men, children, gender minorities, and even entire communities, despite the common misconception that it primarily refers to violence against women. It stems from power disparities, injustice, and long-standing preconceptions that specify how a person “should” act according to their gender.
This blog seeks to examine gender violence in all of its manifestations—physical, emotional, sexual, psychological, digital, and structural—while emphasizing the risks that men, women, and transgender people faced in the modern world.
